The project aims to contribute to the conduct of fair elections in Armenia and thus enhance the trust of the population towards elections through exposure to monitoring results via respective page entitled "Voting numbers-based analytic calculation" on TIAC website and mass media; presentation and dissemination of project findings; draft recommendations for improvement of legislation, procedures and enforcement related to elections in Armenia. The goal is achieved through controlling the accuracy of the process and results of voting in all precincts, analyzing possible instances of irregularities and fraud during voting, wide dissemination of the results of the analysis, and assessment of the impact of irregularities and fraud on the outcome of the presidential elections.

"Civilnet:" numbers lie

"Civilnet" presented some data revealed within the framework of Electronic monitoring of voting numbers of 2013 presidential elections in Armenia project carried out by Transparency International Anti-corruption Center. According to Central Electoral Commission 1,521,931 people participated in the 2013 presidential elections held in Armenia on February 18, which means only 60 per cent of the eligible voters cast their votes. The residents of Ararat marz were the most active voters with 74 per cent voter turnout, after which the most active marz was Gegharkinik with 69 percent. People from Armavir marz were the least active during the election with 57 per cent voter turnout but the region with the lowest turnout was Yerevan with 54 per cent. According to TIAC although the 2011 census indicated the population drop of 131,000 compared to 2001, the number of eligible voters in the same period increased by 202,000. Meanwhile Armenia's electoral lists include 5,751 people under 18, and 6,315 names who are not registered at a specific address.

Vote 2013: some observations were presented

In his interview to Radio Liberty Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center informed about some findings of monitoring conducted by the center. Within the framework of Electronic monitoring of voting numbers of 2013 presidential elections, he revealed some facts related to voting numbers-based analytic calculation. They refer to voter lists and the time spent on voting. The names of the out-of-county citizens still registered in Armenia officially remained on voter lists, which caused a risk of multiple voting.
