Corruption risk assessment in mining sector of Armenia: TIAC Presents Preliminary Results
On June 20, 2017, Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC) presented and discussed the preliminary results of the study it conducted on corruption risk assessment in the process of awarding mining rights and related permits in mining sector. The study was presented by TIAC’s Executive Director Sona Ayvazyan and expert Arthur Grigoryan, who touched upon matching vulnerabilities to risks and other issues.
During the discussion, interested parties participating in the event, including representatives of the government of Republic of Armenia, employees of relevant ministries, and members of Republic of Armenia’s Extracting Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Multi-stakeholder group, presented their views on abovementioned issues.
