The objective of the project is to evaluate the efficiency with which authorized bodies in urban development in Yerevan promote access to information and public participation. The project reviews the legislation of the Republic of Armenia regarding civil construction and the relevant statutes on land and environmental protection, the functions of corresponding authorized bodies, as well as monitoring in the aforementioned area. The project is implemented through inquiries at the Yerevan Municipality and among various district municipalities, a social survey of the population of the capital city, interviews with representatives of government agencies, entrepreneurs and public organizations, expert surveillance and media monitoring, and a study of public opinion on corruption in urban development area.
