Sona Ayvazyan, Chair of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center (TIAC) was among the assembly monitors who gathered in Chisinau, Moldova, on May 13, 2011 to participate in a roundtable discussion on OSCE-supported monitoring projects on "Freedom of Peaceful Assembly: Lessons learned and ways forward." ODIHR Handbook on Monitoring Freedom of Peaceful Assembly by Neil Jarman, member of the ODIHR Panel of Experts on the Freedom of Assembly was presented during the event.

The discussion addressed a variety of pressing issues, such as monitoring assemblies in practice, challenges and ways to overcome them; reporting on assemblies and drafting comprehensive reports; communicating the monitoring findings, engaging with the authorities and effecting change; and the role of the OSCE and ODIHR in supporting civil society in monitoring assemblies.
