On April 18, 2011, Lena Nazaryan, project assistant of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center (TIAC) participated in public hearings in Sotk mayor's office, Gegharkunik province on the construction of crushing and screening complex at Sotk mine. It is noteworthy that GeoProMining Gold LLC, which exploited the ore did not have a construction license of such a complex, neither did it have relevant state expert conclusion of environmental impact.

The village mayor, residents of Sotk and neighboring villages, NGOs, employees of Sevan national park, representatives of environmental department employees of provincial governor's office and mass media attended the public hearing. Besides participation in public discussion Lena Nazaryan visited construction site in Sotk ore.
