As part of Armenian civil society experts' delegation, Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center paid a policy advocacy visit to Washington, D. C. from January 19 to 21, 2011. Organized by Open Society Foundations-Armenia, it was planned to present analysis and recommendations in the fields of human rights, media freedom and corruption to relevant sector specialists of US government departments and agencies and the Armenian Diaspora organizations' national headquarters.

They discussed progress made by the Armenian government in implementing its commitments with representatives of the White House National Security Staff, US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, US Department of State, the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (the Helsinki Commission), USAID Bureau for Europe and Eurasia, Millennium Challenge Corporation. In addition, meetings were held with representatives of the Armenian National Committee of America and the Armenian Assembly of America.
