A series of trainings on whistleblowing system was launched in marzes of Armenia from December 12 to 28, 2019 within the framework of “Engaged Citizenry for Responsible Governance” project with the logistical support of Civic Youth Centers. Specifically, seven regional trainings were conducted on “Whistleblowing rights and responsibilities” by TIAC expert Khachik Harutyunyan for youth and local activists.

In total 71 youth and CSO representatives took part in the trainings, held in

  • Armavir (7 participants, December 12),
  • Ijevan (11 participants, December 13),
  • Kapan (10 participants, December 19),
  • Yeghegnadzor (10 participants, December 20),
  • Gyumri (18 participants, December 21 ),
  • Vanadzor (10 participants, December 25 ),
  • Hrazdan (5 participants, December 28).

As a result of the trainings, the participants gained general knowledge on whistleblowing system in Armenia and the overall picture of whistleblowing regime, the differences between whistleblowers, crime reporters, and complainants, the ways, as well gained basic understanding of mechanisms and ways of whistleblowing.
