A two-day meeting of the expert community of the Public Integrity and Ethics in System of Local Governance launched on March 4. The expert community strives to become the key group working for the strategic localization of the national integrity and anticorruption policy and its application by local governments in Armenia.

The expert community was formed in the framework of the Strengthening the Communities Association of Armenia and Transparent, Participatory Local Governance in Armenia project implemented by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe as well as the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan in the scope of the 2019-2020 CoE activities for Armenia with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

Four thematic groups were formed during the first meeting of the expert community which discussed and developed the required thematic tools. Armen Khudaverdyan, a Transparency International Anticorruption (TIAC) expert was among the participants of the event who facilitated the works of the working group on Public Integrity and presented a report on the Development of a System of Integrity in Bodies of Local Self-Government that centered around the approaches of the system of integrity for public officials and servants in the system of local self-government based on new legislative regulations, along with the existing gaps and challenges.
