A press conference was held on December 9, 2010, International Anti-Corruption Day at Marriott Armenia Hotel. Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center presented the findings of the 2010 Global Corruption Barometer (GCB), released by Transparency International (TI) Global Anti-corruption Organization, and TIAC Chair Sona Ayvazyan informed about establishment of an award in the name of Amalia Kostanyan.

GCB is a cross country public opinion survey of households in dozens of countries on people's perceptions and experiences of corruption. In particular, through the survey it is revealed which sphere is perceived as the most corrupt among the population of a particular country, what citizens think about the trends in corruption in the recent years, how widespread is bribing of public officials by citizens, etc. The 2010 GCB included 86 countries, where more than 91,500 people were interviewed. Similar to 2009, this year also Armenia was included in the survey. The survey in Armenia was conducted from June 10 to 20 by Romir Holding, Russian well-known polling agency, which is the official representative of Gallup International in Russia.

Sona Ayvazyan states that the center together with its partner organizations established an award in the name of Amalia Kostanyan for her significant contribution in fight against corruption and establishment of civil society.

This award will be given annually on December 9 to honor the people who had certain contribution in fight against corruption and in the establishment of civil society. TIAC will inform on the form and content of the award via mass media.
