The first discussion dedicated to the electing process of the civil society members and the alternative members to the EITI MSG was held on 16 July: The members of the civil society to the EITI MSG Sona Ayvazyan, Harutyun Movsisyan, Inga Zarafyan and Arthur Hambardzumyan made opening speeches at the meeting. The role and the aims of the civil society faction in the MSG were presented and information was provided about the first elections.

The participants discussed two documents “Brief Summary on First Election to Civil Society Faction of RA EITI MSG of First Convention” and “Draft on Formation of Civil Society Faction of RA EITI MSG, Election of Members and Alternative Members and Termination of Their Authorities.”

An arrangement has been reached that some clauses in this project will be discussed in the next meeting, which will be held in two weeks – on 30 July, from 16:00 to 18:00. As in the first time, the representatives of the civil society will have an opportunity to take part in the discussions also in the online format.
