Since May 28, 2010 up till now, sticking to their policy of 2008, the Armenian authorities have illegally blocked opposition representatives' entry to Yerevan's Square of Liberty in the person of special services and police. Armenian citizens' right to free movement in an area in the capital of Yerevan has been violated by obvious breaches of law and cynical motivations based on political affiliation.

Moreover, trying to create an illusion of public disorder, lawful participants in protest actions and journalists covering the gatherings were illegally taken to police stations. Obvious and public violence has been used even against women and minors.

Taking journalist Ani Gevorgyan of "Haykakan Zhamanak" daily and activists David Kiramijyan and Sargis Gevorgyan of the Armenian National Movement (HAK) to police station on May 31, 2010, and holding them in detention up till now are clear manifestations of the aforementioned policy.

These all once again certify of the use of military-police methods by the Armenian authorities who spare no efforts to suppress any dissent.
