On December 10, International Human Rights Day, Anti-corruption Advocacy and Assistance Center (AAC) in Lori Marz was officially opened in the premises of Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office. The Center has been set up within the framework of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center's "Establishment and Operation of Anti-corruption AACs in Yerevan, Gyumri and Vanadzor" project, supported by USAID Mobilizing Action against Corruption Activity, implemented by Casals and Associates, Inc.

The Center will provide victims of corruption with legal consultation and legal protection of their violated rights. The 0 800 01 112 toll-free hotline will be operating to help citizens.

In his remarks Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Vice Chair of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center attached importance to the necessity of opening an anti-corruption center in Lori Marz. The role of NGOs, especially those with experience in human rights practices, is great in reducing corruption risks. Transparency International Anti-corruption Center has chosen Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office as a partner with an expectation that after the end of the project the organization can continue its anti-corruption activity.
