Lragir.am interviewed Artak Manukyan, Procurement Expert of Transparency International Anticorruption Center on the problems of economic competitiveness in Armenia. In the opinion of Artak Manukyan State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition of the Republic of Armenia (SCPEC) should pursue transparent policy, and the penalties it imposed should not be selective. In reply to the question how transparent SCPEC activity was and how effectively it boosted competitiveness, Manukyan noted that the Commission displayed not systemic but selective approach. For instance, if a new economic player emerged, which should be spoken out to be forced out of the market, it is forced out. An opportunity should be created for warning as well.

Instead of boosting competitiveness SCPEC seemed to boost centralization, which resulted in having dominating entities in more areas.
