In a formal communication addressed to Mayor Tigran Avinyan of Yerevan, TIAC requests information regarding the activities of Yerevan in 2023, as mandated by Articles 9 and 12 of the RA Law on Freedom of Information. Specifically, TIAC seeks attendance records of City Council members, who were elected in the September 17 elections, at meetings convened thus far.

TIAC also emphasizes the necessity for clear criteria delineating what constitutes respectful versus disrespectful absences of council members, along with the methodology for assessing their adherence to attendance requirements and a comprehensive list of requisite supporting documentation.

It is pertinent to recall that the "National Progress" faction of the Yerevan City Council recently issued a statement regarding the expulsion of Hayk Marutyan, along with several other opposition members of the Council of Elders. This decision was purportedly made due to their non-attendance at council meetings.
