Grant Programs for Public Monitoring have been Launched
Under “Strengthening Accountability Networks Among Civil Society (SANCUS)” project, two more organizations have launched public monitoring initiatives. A project by “Free Flight” will carry out monitoring in public schools of the Gegharkunik region, studying whether the computer classrooms are properly equipped, are accessible for students, and whether the classrooms are effectively used. “Civic Youth Center” community development NGO, in turn, will monitor the public school councils to evaluate the effectiveness of the new regulation regarding the formation of the collegial body of management of public schools.
During the projects, civil society groups will utilize a range of public monitoring tools, including document analysis, focus group discussions, observations, and surveys with stakeholders, representatives of authorized institutions, and experts. The results of the monitoring will be summarized in reports, where the teams will present recommendations to the authorities and interest groups, as well as carry out advocacy to promote their proposals.
Monitoring projects will conclude by August 2023.
The monitoring projects are implemented in collaboration with “Transparency International Anticorruption Center” NGO with the financial support of the European Union.
