On February 25 a public discussion “The Municipal Amalgamation Process in Gegharkunik region: The process, changes and issues of Amalgamation” took place in Gavar in the framework of “Participatory democracy in action” project․
The event thoroughly addressed the issues and challenges of amalgamation process as well as discuss possible solutions and recommendations.
The discussion aims at:

- Discussing the changes and difficulties resulting from amalgamation.
- Identifying expectations and concerns of community actors, formulating recommendations for effective organization of the amalgamated communities’ management process.
Representatives of Gegharkunik marz administration, CSOs, Local self-government bodies and active citizens were present at the discussion.
