In May 25 – 27, 2016 Khachik Harutyunyan, Anti-corruption Expert of Transparency International Anticorruption Center participated in a tailor-made training at the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) in Laxenburg, Austria. It brought together 27 participants from the public and private sectors and civil society who were anti-corruption and compliance professionals from Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Member States. Co-sponsored by the Russian Federation, the program, was designed to build a common knowledge base and strengthen regional capacities to effectively prevent and combat corruption. Tailor-made trainings are IACA’s customized programs for specific organizations, corporations, or institutions, addressing the unique challenges that each one faces in preventing and fighting corruption.

Topics included corruption in the EAEU, the shadow economy and corruption, governance and anti-corruption, public procurement and model laws, and public-private partnerships (collective action). The training was conducted by five external lecturers and Nikos Passas, IACA’s Distinguished Inaugural Professor of Collective Action, Business Ethics and Compliance. It also includes case studies and a study visit to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for an overview of international legal instruments against corruption.
