Anticorruption education for young people is one of the prority issues for Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC). It was also discussed during TIAC strategic planning session. TIAC Project Specialist / Researcher Tateveik Barseghyan’s subsequent training for the students of Young Leaders’ School was aimed at it. The training was accompanied by practical work.

The Interactive training comprised of three parts. In part one the participants were informed on corruption, got acquainted with its manifestations, reasons and consequences and research on corruption.

National Integrity System (NIS) was presented to them in the second part. The participants in the training were introduced on anticorruption fight in Armenia. They learned about the international obligations that Armenia undertook to implement, anticorruption strategies and the anticorruption bodies, corruption situation in certain spheres, particularly in education and health care, as well as corruption manifestations during elections.

The main components of effective anticorruption policy – prevention, detection, public participation and education - were presented in the third part of the training. The participants also were introduced with corruption prevention tools, got an idea on freedom of information, regulation of conflict of interest, norms of ethics. The information they acquired was strengthened by practical work.
