Investigation of a complaint filed by Transparency International Anticorruption Center NGO and attorney Tigran Hayrapetyan on May 6, 2015 was continued in common jurisdiction court of Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork Marash administrative districts on September 1, 2015. The complaint was initiated for failing to carry out proper examination of crime reporting on unlawfulness in “Byureghavan Children's Care and Protection Boarding School” SNCO and for failing to conduct thorough, impartial and comprehensive investigation of the case, as well as to oversee the mentioned circumstances by the prosecutor. Investigation of the complaint case was postponed, since the prosecutor entitled to oversee did not come.

It should be reminded that based on boarding school employees’ open letter published in mass media, Transparency International Anticorruption Center NGO, a number of child protection organizations and a group of activists, reported crime to the Prosecutor General of Armenia on April 18, 2014 on unlawfulness, in particular embezzlement and abuse committed by the director of Byureghavan children care and protection boarding institution SNCO under the Ministry of Law and Social Issues, assault and violence against children, as well as possible patronage by Ministry of Law and Social Issues.

The crime reporting failed to be properly investigated during nearly the past 18 months by pre-trial body, the investigation was one-sided, the mentioned circumstances failed to be completely exposed, and respective charges were not brought, as well as impartial and comprehensive investigation on possible patronage was not conducted.

The next court case is assigned to be held on September 17, at 5:30 p.m.
