As official chapter representative Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC) participated in Transparency International's 2014 Annual Membership Meeting (AMM) on October 17-19, 2014 and related meetings, including Europe and Central Asia Regional Meeting prior to it, held in Berlin, Germany. The AMM brought together TI representatives from more than 100 countries who, among other items of the agenda, were presented Progress Report from the Board, considered and approved 2013 annual report, etc.

The meeting passed three resolutions: Protect civil society space now, Integrity in sport: restoring trust in FIFA and Resolution on speaking out about multinational companies.

At the meeting the TI movement elected José Ugaz, a former president of the movement’s chapter in Peru and a leading anticorruption lawyer, as the new chair. Elena Panfilova, the chair of TI Russia, was elected as the vice-chair of the movement’s international board of directors.

Six new board members were also elected: Sion Assidon (Morocco), Emile Carr (Sierra Leone), Jeremy Carver (UK), Mercedes de Freitas (Venezuela), Mark Mullen (Georgia) and Elisabeth Ungar Bleier (Colombia).
