Description

The present research has aimed to identify issues, defficiencies, mistakes, legislation gaps and governance issues related to privatization and investments that resulted in material and moral damages for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, who were not able to ensure economic development and equitable distribution of proceeds received among all members of society and thus suffered irreparable damages. Considering the fact that the share of Russian investments or Russiancompanies in the Armenian economy is disproportionately higher than that of other countries, the present research largely addresses said investments and organizations and analyzes corresponding transactions.

It is expected that problems identified by the research as well as lessons learned will help authorities of the Republic of Armenia to improve the system of state governance and legislation, which will prevent the country from making such future mistakes, will help guarantee the entry of clean capital to Armenia, will make the country's economy less vulnerable to global shocks and economic ups and downs and will ensure that investments serve the interests of the people.
