Description

The assessment was conducted from November 2022 to May 2023 and aims to reveal the obstacles for the effective parliamentary oversight by examining tools and possibilities for the Parliament to hold the government accountable and highlight limitations for public engagement in the oversight process.

Our research proves that the effectiveness of the parliamentary oversight system of Armenia appears to be suboptimal, as evidenced by the studies of independent experts, international and local research centers. The current oversight tools and mechanisms are not fully and effectively utilized by the MPs, hindering the Parliament’s ability to ensure transparency and accountability of the Executive.

This research has been carried out with financial support from the European Union under the Strengthening Accountability Networks among Civil Society (SANCUS) project, implemented by Transparency International Anti-corruption Center (TIAC).
