TIAC - participant in a seminar on public accountability and public control
Sona Ayvazyan, Deputy Director of Transparency International Anticorruption Center took part in a seminar "Public Accountability: Trends and Instruments of Public Control" organized by the Center for Anti-corruption Research and Initiative, TI's Russian chapter in Moscow, Russia on April 21-23, 2014. The goal of the seminar was to discuss current trends in development of instruments of public anti-corruption control over public officials and state and non-state bodies. It was the most important topic for TI Russia, given its involvement in the development of the concept of the public accountability in Russia and its attempts to conduct on-going public monitoring of declarations of income and assets of public officials.
The seminar brought together TI chapters from Armenia, Georgia, Slovakia, Lithuania and Russia to share their knowledge and experience on new instruments of public control emerging in their respective chapters. The participants discussed all issues and problems related to daily routine of public control projects including challenges and new possibilities unfolding ahead of them all.
