Heriknaz Tigranyan, Legal Adviser of Transparency International Anticorruption Center participated in a working meeting on “The Guarantees of Trade Unions’ Activity,” organized by NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs on February 28, 2014. The aim of this meeting was to discuss with the responsible officials of the sphere the legislative problems, particularly the law “On Trade Unions” and a number of provisions of the Labor Code, which impede or do not promote the effective activity of Trade Unions and to jointly find solutions for them.

The meeting brought together representatives of Trade Unions and NGOs to participate in the discussions. The Committee Chair Elinar Vardanyan urged the participants to submit proposals in written form, on the basis of which recommendation would be presented to improve the laws regulating the sphere. An agreement was reached to organize one more meeting in future.
