A World Bank report in the "Governance Matters" series was launched on July 10, 2007. It covers the updated and expanded set of Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI) for 212 countries and territories and measures six dimensions of governance. The research methodology as well as the new data and analysis are contained in this report authored by D. Kaufmann, A. Kraay, and M. Mastruzzi. This is the sixth such report in a research series that started in the late nineties.

Armenia is in the middle of the rankings among the countries situated in the middle part of the table. It has somewhat regressed in terms of rule of law in recent years, while developing a more stable political system and improving its legal framework. The Armenian government's accountability to the public and the effectiveness of its activities were also found to have somewhat worsened in the past several years, while a slight improvement was recorded in government efforts to combat corruption.
