In reply to TIAC application
In reply to the application of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center, Anahit Yesayan, PR Specialist of Chief Architect of Yerevan disseminated press release which reads that Narek Sargsyan himself is interested for objective investigation to be carried out.
"Any Chief Architect in Armenia or elsewhere, has a right to be engaged in creative work. All our Chief Architects - starting from Alexander Tamanyan and Nikoghayos Buniatyan up to Grigor Aghababyan, Marc Grigoryan, Jim Torosyan, Aslan Mkhitaryan, Samvel Danielyan, Narek Sargsyan were engaged in creative work, and numerous great structures in our city and in the republic were constructed particularly by them.
Moreover, most part of the designs by Chief Architect Narek Sargsyan were developed in those years (July 2004-July 2008) when he did not have any public office. It was in that period - in 2004, that "Narek Sargsyan Architectural Studio" was created.
Professor Narek Sargsyan, Honored Architect of Armenia has never been engaged in any business and earns his living by exclusively his profession, moreover through architectural design, about which he stated himself.
As for the materials, in particular, on the processes carried out about monument-buildings of Yerevan by Yerevan Municipality or Chief Architect of Yerevan, based on the application submitted by TIAC to RA Prosecutor Generals Office, we inform that any function regarding monuments carried out in Armenia is reserved to RA Ministry of Culture. It is the authorized representative in the given sphere. It is clear that no other structure or person can carry out such functions.
Reflecting on the materials, being prepared by General Department of Investigations of RA Police, based on TIAC application, Chief Architect of Yerevan Narek Sargsyan stated that he himself is interested for the reality to be revealed as a result of objective examination on processes of monuments. He wanted to shed light on what purpose the authors had in disseminating slander and intrigue," is stated in the release.
