Seminar "The Role of EaP CSF in Fostering Public Administration and Anticorruption"
Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center participated in a seminar "The Role of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF) in Fostering Public Administration and Anticorruption" in Gyumri from June 30 to July 2, 2011. He made a presentation on "The Implementation Process of EaP CSF Recommendations in the Field of Anticorruption from the Armenian Civil Society's Perspective." The seminar was organized by Yerevan Press Club with the support of Friedrich Ebert Foundation Armenia.
The seminar brought together representatives of different Armenian NGOs. The participants shared their opinions and suggestions during active discussions. The seminar was covered by the leading TV companies of Gyumri "Tsayg" and "Gala." Naira Gevorgyan, the Head of Friedrich Ebert Foundation Armenian Office welcomed the audience with opening remarks.
Other speaker of the seminar was Vahan Movsisyan, Chairman of Community Finance Officers Association who gave a presentation on "The Implementation of EaP CSF Recommendation on Public Administration from the Armenian Civil Society's Perspective." In his report, he especially stressed the process of community enlargement, which in its turn will contribute to the active participation in the field of public administration.
Armineh Tukhikyan, the Co-Chair of Urban Foundation for Sustainable Development introduced her report on "Perspectives for strengthening ties between EaP CSF and Armenian NGOs in the Field of Public Administration."
Svyatoslav Pavlyuk, Deputy Director of the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation (PAUCI) Ukraine and Natalia Shapovalova, a researcher of Fundacion para las Relaciones Internacionales y el Dialogo Exterior (FRIDE), a European think tank for global action, shared their experiences with the participants of the seminar introducing the implementation process of EaP CSF recommendations in the field of public administration and anticorruption.
Concluding remarks were delivered by Levon Barseghyan, Board Chairman of "Asparez" Journalists Club of Gyumri in his report "Perspectives of Strengthening Ties between EaP CSF and Armenian NGOs in the Field of Anticorruption." He stressed the importance of the cooperation of EaP six member states and the role of the third countries in EU and EaP relations.
