On September 8, 2006 the Anti-Corruption Board held a meeting to discuss the progress of RA Anti-Corruption Strategy Program and Its Action Plan, the activities for the period of 1999-2006 of the RA Public Sector Reforms Commission and other current issues. The meeting decided to proceed with the development of a new Program and assigned to the heads of the RA executive bodies to develop recommendations with regard to the fight against corruption within their sectors in order to include them in the new strategic program.

Instead of Bagrat Yesayan, who was appointed the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the RA back in May 2006, Gevorg Mheryan, the Assistant to the RA President, was elected to perform the duties of a member of the Anti-Corruption Board and the Chairman of the Monitoring Commission for Implementation of Anti-Corruption Strategy Program.

It is worth mentioning that the previous meeting of the Anti-Corruption Board that was held on April 21, 2006, discussed among other issues the necessity to introduce certain amendments in the Anti-Corruption Strategy Program and Its Action Plan. That meeting resolved to give an assignment to RA Ministries and Ministerial Departments, after a six-month public discussion, to develop a new anti-corruption program for the upcoming three years, which, however, was not carried out. Four months later a new resolution was adopted on the same issue, which did not address the issue of public discussions.
