The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia passed a decision yesterday at its private session that the commitments set forth in the New York Anticorruption Convention executed on 31 October, 2003 correspond to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. The Aforementioned Convention was adopted to eradicate corruption by means of international cooperation and promotion of technical assistance. It has been joined by 140 states, 52 of which have already ratified the Convention. Armen Martirosyan, the representative of the Republic of Armenia at the UN, signed the Convention on 19 May, 2005 in New York. The Convention became effective as of 14 December, 2005.
