“Transparency International Anticorruption Center” NGO conducted thematic studies on corruption risk assessment in defense sector of Armenia within “Promoting Integrity of the Defense Sector in Armenia” project, funded by the British Embassy in Yerevan. The results of the studies were presented and discussed on March 30, 2016. The studies include assessment of corruption risks in procurement procedures, practice of asset disposal in defense sector, effectiveness of parliamentary oversight over defense sector and issues related to exercise of electoral rights of soldiers.

Sona Ayvazyan, Deputy Director, Transparency International Anticorruption Center and Amias Moores, Deputy Head of Mission of British Embassy Yerevan made opening remarks.

Expert Artak Manukyan presented Corruption Risks in Procurement Procedures of Defense Sector, Expert Virab Khachatryan came up with presentation of Practice of Asset Disposal in Defence Sector, Arpy Manusyan of “Socioscope” NGO addressed Parliamentary Oversight over Defence Sector and Araks Melkonyan, Project Coordinator, Transparency International Anticorruption Center presented Electoral Rights of Soldiers.
