The latest elections in Yerevan communities once again proved that criminal mechanisms, fear and despair, deeply penetrated into Armenia's electoral processes. Against this backdrop all the steps to improve the electoral system are doomed to failure and the legitimacy of "elected" officials is questioned.

Transparency International Anti-corruption Center carried out election observation mission on September 7 and 28 to monitor the elections of community head and council members in 5 polling stations (PS) (4/12, 4/22, 4/39, 4/45, 4/46) of Yerevan's Arabkir and 10 PSs (10/10, 10/13, 10/17, 10/21, 10/25, 10/28, 10/30, 10/37, 10/39, 10/44) of Kentron communities. We have registered the following among different kinds of violations during Arabkir community elections.
