Chairwoman Amalia Kostanyan of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center (TIAC) attended and addressed World Bank consultation on "Governance and Anti-corruption," held in Congress Hotel on September 12, 2008. The event brought together civil society representatives of different spheres for a public dialogue to ensure the widest possible involvement for drafting the World Bank's work plan, Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) with Armenia for the next 4 years.

World Bank Country Manager for Armenia Aristomene Varoudakis welcomed the audience with opening remarks. Speaker Ashot Khurshudyan, Expert of International Center for Human Development (ICHD) made a presentation on governance, while Amalia Kostanyan dwelt on corruption. The consultation was moderated by Davit Melikyan, Public Sector Management Specialist. Representatives from Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) of Armenia (UMB(E)A), Yerevan Press Club (YPC), "Asparez" Journalists' Club, "Achilles" Center for Protection of Drivers' Rights NGO and other organizations, as well as TIAC Vice Chair Varuzhan Hoktanyan participated in the event.
