June 5, 2008 was marked by a massive protest march through the streets of Yerevan to remind its dwellers that Armenia's nature, as well as the future of the country and the next generations were endangered. From nearby Saryan Statue to the Northern Avenue, the march grew increasingly diverse with youth in animal's masks, drum and trumpet and slogans, featuring that they were destined to struggle since Teghut forest was destroyed, Lake Sevan turned into a swamp, mineral resources were plundered, unique flora and fauna were on the verge of disappearance, and the capital Yerevan turned into desert.

The protesters disseminated information on the ecological problems of the Republic and on the message of the day.
