Brief job description:

TIAC announces a job opening for Advocacy/Communications Coordinator who will be responsible for the coordination and leading of advocacy, communications and public outreach activities of the organization. The Advocacy/Communications Coordinator will directly report to Executive Director of the organization.

Job key responsibilities:

a) Advocacy

  • Ensure development, update and implementation of advocacy strategies and plans for the organization and its programmatic areas;
  • Identify, develop and strengthen advocacy partnerships and collaboration with key stakeholders of the organization, including state bodies, international organizations and foreign missions, media and civil society organizations, etc. and act as key liaison with the latter’s;
  • Develop organization’s position statements on key advocacy issues proactively and in response to events;
  • Identify and suggest advocacy tools for the effective advocacy and lobbing for policy and behavior changes, promoted by organization;
  • Coordinate and arrange the advocacy meetings and events, required for the effective promotion of recommendations developed by the organization aimed at policy and behavioral change;

b) Communications

  • Ensure the development, update and implementation of public outreach strategies, communications plans and branding policies/guidelines for the organization and its programmatic areas;
  • Ensure the development and communication of organization’s press releases, success stories, presentations and other relevant materials in user friendly formats;
  • Identify opportunities and ensure the increased media coverage for organization’s activities both on national and international level;
  • Ensure the visibility of organization’s activities and products in a user-friendly formats, as well signal on the launch of the new projects and products to relevant stakeholders and media;
  • Coordinate and ensure the development and communication to relevant stakeholders of organization’s corporate documents development, including newsletters, annual reports, policy briefs, etc.;
  • Review and oversee all external communication of the organization, including articles, reports and publications, letters, website and social media, ensuring the compliance with organization’s branding guidelines;
  • Edit reports, articles, proposals for clarity and conceptualize graphics that drive or support the written material;
  • Coordinate the key public events of the organization, ensuring the development of promotional/informational materials on them;
  • Ensure that organization’s website and social media channels are up to date in due and timely manner.

c) Management

  • Supervise advocacy/communications team, including staff, consultants, volunteers and interns;
  • Oversee communications, partnerships and advocacy strategies, plans with measurable outcomes and ensure effective monitoring/evaluation and reporting;
  • Provide training and consultancy to project teams on advocacy and communications issues;
  • Develop and manage the communications and advocacy budgets;
  • Participate in the fundraising activities of the organization.

Required qualifications and competencies:

  • Master degree or advanced training in public relations, communications, journalism or other related fields
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in project or activity coordination/management
  • Minimum 5 years’ professional experience, working in advocacy and communications, public relations and media, preferably in NGO sector
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent command of Armenian, English and Russian
  • Creative thinking and initiative and proactive approach
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a multitask and stressful environment
  • Willingness to contribute to the development of the country and the civil society’s fight against corruption
