Open your door, it's the election postman!
Don't lose your chance to address your questions to MP hopefuls and to take part in setting up the country's political agenda! This exceptional opportunity is offered to Armenia's ordinary citizens thanks to "Election postman: Parliamentary elections-2012" project, implemented by Transparency International Anti-corruption Center, "Asparez" Journalists' Club and Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office, funded by British Embassy Yerevan, OSI Assistance Foundation and Counterpart International - Armenia.
Seven postmen are engaged to gather questions and concerns of community and republican importance from Armenia's 800 citizens inhabiting in 50 settlements. Before embarking upon the postal mission, they participated in a training to get introduced to cods of ethics for postmen, a comprehensive guide, sampling developed with special methodology.
The activity of one of the three postmen working in Yerevan is covered by a video shot by ArmNews television. The voters mainly address questions to postmen on unemployment, job openings and pensions.
Those questions will be addressed to the political forces running in the parliamentary elections during special television shows. The project participants will follow that they be reflected in the election programs of the MP candidates of political parties and alliances to 2012 elections. In the opinion of Christina Margaryan, the Project Coordinator making the voter's voices heard will urge the political parties and alliances be more precise and responsible in their promises.
