Varuzhan Hoktanyan: There is high tolerance of corruption
In his interview to Research Center "Region", published in "Hetq" weekly and "Hetq" online Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center (TIAC), addressed a number of issues regarding corruption, including how the Armenian society perceives corruption, how deep-rooted it is both for the man in the street and for authorities; what areas are most affected by corruption, including natural resources; what fighting corruption means in practice, how the state and citizens struggle against it, whether or not it is possible to reduce corruption; what Armenia's ranking is in Transparency International's latest surveys (GCB and CPI), how long Transparency International Anti-corruption Center has functioned in Armenia and whether or not corruption level changed (reduced, increased) within that period.
