A New Report Published on Armenia’s Diplomatic Services
The new report published by Transparency International Anticorruption Center analyzes the work of Armenia’s embassies in 40 European countries during the period of 2018–2023.
Foreign relations and diplomatic services remain among the areas of public administration that are the least subject to public oversight.
The report aims to assess the effectiveness of diplomatic representations based on the analysis of data available in the public domain. The findings point to a number of systemic shortcomings—ranging from the absence of a diplomatic strategy to uneven and inconsistent performance of embassies, as well as the lack of a clear direction in public diplomacy.
The recommendations presented in the report are aimed at increasing the transparency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, strengthening the accountability of embassies, and fostering greater public trust in foreign policy.
