On March 28, TIAC presented the draft report on the assessment of the activities of the Corruption Prevention Commission. The event featured opening remarks from TIAC Executive Director Sona Ayvazyan and Patrik Svensson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Armenia, underscoring the significance of the research aimed at enhancing the performance of both the government and the CPC in their anti-corruption endeavors.

Armen Khudaverdyan, TIAC Public Administration Consultant, presented the research findings, highlighting the evaluation of CPC activities across six measurement groups based on international standards, encompassing 51 indicators. Specifically, the assessment covered the Commission's independence and status, allocation of financial and human resources, accountability and internal integrity, adherence to integrity standards among public officials and servants, anti-corruption education and public awareness initiatives, as well as collaboration and external relations. The activities of the CPC were also observed from the point of view of compliance with the requirements arising from the "UN Anti-Corruption" Convention and the Jakarta Principles for Anti-Corruption Agencies.

The presentation was followed by a lively discussion focusing on the recommendations stemming from the assessment of CPC activities. The package of recommendations are directed towards the RA National Assembly, the Government, the Civil Service Office of the RA Prime Minister's Office, and the Corruption Prevention Commission.

TIAC will subsequently consolidate the report's findings and prepare it for publication.

The report from Factor TV is available in Armenian.
