Akanates Statement on LSG election developments

Civic organizations highlight that the EBRD’s continued involvement in the Amulsar mining project threatens its reputation and call on the Bank to conduct a comprehensive risk assessment, ensure transparency in addressing the issue, and, if necessary, suspend its partnership with Ameriabank to comply with its environmental and social commitments.

Civic society organizations express their concern over the contradictory actions of the Government of Armenia in the field of environmental protection and stress the urgency, ahead of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity and Armenia’s Presidency, to review its approaches and align state actions with international obligations.
