The TV program “Hraparakum” has reported on the workshop on beneficial ownership disclosure and Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) reporting that was held on June 6-7, 2017. The workshop, conducted by Dyveke Rogan, the Policy and Regional Director of the EITI International Secretariat, had Sona Ayvazyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC) and Khachik Harutyunyan, TIAC’s anticorruption expert, as participants.

The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) is a global Standard to promote the open and accountable management of natural resources, which membership includes 51 countries (As of March 9, 2017).

On March 9, 2017, in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, EITI’s board approved the candidacy application of the Republic of Armenia, granting RA a status of an EITI candidate country. The international partners of EITI – Armenia are the World Bank, USAID with the “Enhanced Transparency in the Mining Sector” project, and the British Embassy.
