Presided by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, Anticorruption Council meeting was held on February 17 in the Office of Government, attended by the representatives of civil society, including Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC). Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan first presented the changes in the Council structure, noting that it comprised of representatives of public agencies, the Human Rights Defender, as well as representatives from two non-governmental organizations, including the CSO anti-corruption coalition representative organization and Transparency International Anticorruption Center. In the near future other non-governmental organizations will join the Council to be selected on the basis of competition.

The following items on agenda were discussed: corruption risks in Armenia’s tax and customs administration, corruption risks in Armenia’s public procurement, corruption risks in Armenia’s economic competition and monopolies, corruption manifestations in the field of funeral ritual.
