The board re-elected chair at the TIAC board meeting
On August 19, 2016 Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC) held a board meeting, which was attended by all members of the board, Haykak Arshamyan, Suren Saghatelyan and Vazgen Karapetyan, Michael Hovhanisyan and Nvard Manasyan. The session was also attended by TIAC’s Executive Director Varuzhan Hoktanyan, along with TIAC staff and members. The meeting was chaired by TIAC’s Deputy Director Sona Ayvazyan, with TIAC’s Heriknaz Tigranian as secretary.
They discussed the following agenda items, TIAC's action in a crisis situation, prospects of cooperation between TIAC and the government, council presidential elections and other issues. It was decided to respond to crisis situations with more efficient actions by displaying a more demanding attitude towards authorities.
The meeting also marked the end of the chairmanship term for board chair Haykak Arshamyan. The occasion was used to hold new elections of board chair. Haykak Arshamyan was re-elected board chair with 4 in favor and 1 abstaining vote effective this term.
Varuzhan Hoktanyan notified about his intention to leave the executive director’s position due to excessive workload. During the meeting it was proposed that Hoktanyan stay in office until the board appoints a new executive director on September 1st, 2016.
