In a conversation with 1in.am News Transparency International anti-corruption center’s executive director Varuzhan Hoktanyan noted that, if we become a parliamentary republic, the National Assembly's role, as an institution, needs to become essential. The National Assembly needs to discuss this issue no matter the opinion of the majority. Meanwhile the leadership seems paralyzed and is unable to address this issue. In reality we do not have a classic separation of powers. Additionally, we not only don’t have three separate branches of government but rather a single branch which the other branches hang upon.

The group, “Daredevils of Sasoon” is rebelling in country where the public’s preferred method of protest is emigration. “Systematic changes are long overdue; this is the solution,” concluded Hoktanyan.
