After Armenia's accession to the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) some economists speak only about its negative consequences. Artak Manukyan, Economist and Procurement Expert of Transparency International Anticorruption Center presents the discrepancies and challenges Armenia faces after its accession to the EEU and gives some recommendations to mitigate its negative consequences. In his talk to Aravot daily he offers to create a common system for public procurement in EEU, enabling to participate in the procurement in common economic space. Common portal will reduce mediated procurement in Armenia, thus in case of cheaper supply one may buy commodities or services directly from that company.
