The Regional Development Center NGO was founded in 2000 on the initiative of a group of enthusiastic Western university alumni, eager to contribute to reforms in Armenia. On October, 2001, it was accredited by Transparency International (TI) global movement against corruption to represent TI in Armenia as its full chapter and on February 2008 was renamed as Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC). Fifteen years later on October 8, 2015, TIAC’s 15th anniversary was marked at the conference Center of Tufenkian Historic Yerevan Hotel to address its track record since its foundation to present and future landmarks.

TIAC board member Mikael Hovhannisyan, who moderated the event, welcomed the guests with opening remarks. Varuzhan Hoktanyan, TIAC Executive Director, presented the organization’s 15-year track record and accomplishments, focusing on its main directions of development, while TIAC board chair Haykak Arshamyan reflected on TIAC’s vision in the upcoming years.

The event brought together TIAC members, former employees, colleagues, representatives of partner and international organizations and state institutions. Elena A. Panfilova, Vice-Chair of Transparency International global movement in her video message, Sedrak Baghdasaryan, Chairman of Victims of State Needs, Armen Khudaverdyan, Member of the Republic of Armenia Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials of Armenia and Anna Shahnazaryan, activist and member of various civic initiatives warmly congratulated TIAC on the occasion of its anniversary.

The event was concluded with Amalia Kostanyan award ceremony.
