Radio Liberty published a report, according to which Yerevan Municipality signed a deal with the Yerevan Cognac Factory to buy 28.8 million AMD (US$62,000) of the Armenian produced brandy at the expense of Yerevan residents’ paid taxes. According to Hetq online, in addition to buying nine different types of brandy from the factory, the municipality purchased expensive glasses each for 100 thousand AMD. In the assessment of Transparency International Anticorruption Center’s (TIAC) Procurement Expert Artak Manukyan the authorities will continue to lead a life of luxury as long as no one is punished for their ungrounded expenses.
