Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC) held its consecutive Board Meeting on December 17, 2014. It brought together four of its five-member Board - Haykak Arshamyan, Levon Barseghyan, Artur Sakunts and Mikael Hovhannisyan. Arsen Kharatyan was absent. Board Chair Haykak Arshamyan presided over the meeting, and Christine Margaryan served as the secretary of the meeting. TIAC Executive Director Varuzhan Hoktanyan and Deputy Director Sona Ayvazyan were also present at the meeting.

The following items were on the agenda – providing information on TIAC’s new projects and developments related to them, discussion on levying TIAC membership fees, discussion on the growth of TIAC members’ engagement in its activities and submission of possible solutions and recommendations, discussion of Sergey Arzumanyan’s application to become TIAC member, nomination of available candidates for 2014 Amalia Kostanyan Award, change in TIAC’s administrative organizational structure, discussion of the issue on joining Transparency International global movement’s “Unmask the Corrupt’’ campaign.

The recently awarded two projects - “Promoting Transparency and Accountability through Advanced Civil Society Participation” funded by USAID and “Advocacy for the Implementation of the Audit Report Produced by the Chamber of Control of the Republic of Armenia” funded by Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (the CBPP), Washington, DC, USA were presented during the Board meeting. The information was taken into consideration.

Problems on levying membership fees were presented at the meeting. Upon the motion of the Board any member who twice consecutively fails to pay membership fee may be removed from the membership by the decision of General Meeting.

The following measures were suggested for the engagement of TIAC members: inviting the members to the events organized by TIAC or by its partners; engaging the members in project discussions, observation and monitoring missions, etc.; as well as updating contact information of the members by clarifying their professional interests and experience in certain spheres.

It was decided to clear up the issue of Sergey Arzumanyan’s membership upon recommendation of TIAC’s two members. Upon two members’ consent the membership application should be motioned for approval.

It was decided to approve TIAC’s administrative organizational structure with new edition. It was also decided to approve TIAC’s joining “Unmask the Corrupt’’ campaign.
