On August 28, 2014 a discussion on Open Government Partnership (OGP) Armenia national action plan 2014 to 2016 was held in Yerevan with the participation of NGO representatives, including Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anticorruption Center who was a member of OGP working group. The speakers addressed civil society’s participation in OGP Armenia national action plan 2014 to 2016, recommendations presented to the Government, the recommendations made by the civil society, which were included and those that were not included in the action plan, the reasons why the recommendations were rejected, the obligations within OGP action plan undertaken by the government, civil society’s potential participation in the implementation of OGP-Armenia 2014-2016 action plan.

The event brought together the stakeholders interested in the investment and development of transparency and accountability in state and community governance. Levon Barseghyan, Council Chairman of Journalists’ Club “Asparez” NGO and Director of “Public awareness and participation in Open Government Partnership Armenia project” welcomed the audience with opening remarks by presenting the project. The project is implemented by the Journalists’ Club “Asparez” with the support of Counterpart International-Armenia/USAID. Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Liana Doydoyan, Project Director at Freedom of Information Center of Armenia, Independent Expert Artak Kyurumyan and others spoke during the event.
