Viasphere Inernational, Inc. won the case

In September 2014 a verdict was reached against Aram Vardanyan on all counts presented to the jury in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in the case of Viasphere International, Inc. v. Aram Vardanyan. As a result of the verdict, Viasphere was awarded damages of 1,074,213.00 USD, including punitive damages. Viasphere International, Inc. brought the action against Vardanyan in 2012 after discovering evidence that Vardanyan, the former General Director of Viasphere’s wholly owned subsidiary Viasphere Technopark CJSC in Armenia (“Technopark”), had defrauded the company. The jury was presented evidence that Vardanyan had utilized Technopark personnel and resources to pursue his own projects. This included the building of Vardanyan’s personal residence, collecting rent and not reporting it and the misappropriation of Technopark intellectual property and product, e.g. the Zenith anti-hail system. During the trial, evidence was also introduced showing that Vardanyan had been involved in witness tampering through threats and bribes shortly before the trial commenced.
