Unlike the initial accusation, charges...

Unlike the initial accusation, charges against political prisoner, the head of Armenian National Movement Vanadzor office R. Voskanyan were mitigated in an attempt to present him merely as a criminal. The initial charge of organizing illegal event was removed and the article about using violence against policeman was changed into a mitigated one. In this case the trial of the accused was examined hastily, the accused admitted his crime, and it turned out that he was not a political prisoner who was detained for his conviction or for his struggle against electoral fraud. He was alleged just as a hooligan who used violence against a policeman. As the journalist of "Haykakan Zhamanak" reported, the same thing had happened, in common jurisdiction court of Yerevans Kentron and Nork- Marash communities. Vardenis resident D. Hambardzumyan was administered mitigated punishment and was released on probation, so that he himself was unaware that he admitted the allegation of his being a criminal. Political prisoner N. Stepanyan was "brainwashed" likewise, other 10 people wait for their turn to come.
